Many in high profile media roles (like Cricinfo, Shastri, Blogs by Dilip) have missed out on such an obvious weakness. Hindu paper say he is leaden footed (yet still supports him); but unlike Sehwag, Vijay is not strong enough on offside (very much favours leg-side).

Now you say, “No doubt he is technically sound”. Strange!! Can you explain why you have contradicted yourself? Sehwag manages to excel because of his offside play, and his leaden feet becomes an advantage as he essays the cut shot (short ball) on a firm base. Murali Vijay is limited then to swinging across the line (like his pickup six shot). Whilst he plays over-pitched offside ball (which is a bad ball generally) very well, he struggles in the area you outlined.

Our century old Indianness of backstabbing by BCCI officials fuelled by media speculations and allegations without proper inquiry shows BCCI autocratic administration. Maverick, visionary Modi is the right person to take IPL to the biggest sporting event of the world with his energy and enthusiasm. Already ECB is adding masala to the speculations by allegations.

well, clive is a well respected, and a great cricketer, but he is a test cricketer himself, who never played a t20 , and even though his remarks seem right but then the times change. Although test cricket is the best, the purest, and the toughest form of cricket – infact the true cricket, but in the times of competitive tv covergae spots, the advent of t20 cricket means that it will give cricket a chance to compete with the other world sports as soccer and tennis. The t20 concept will not harm test cricket at all, it may harm the one days – and the one days should have gone long time ago. t20 should relace the one day format – but test cricket will continue to survivie. Ashes 2009 is an exmaple of its continuing charm.

i jus wanna say that this t20 which is going on is uswless for pakistan .. I want 2 say jus close the team of pak cuz all wasta are there in team da 2 17 year old boy no experience are palyin n best like imran nazir n razzak n mohd yousf are sitting .. Jus shout the chair man of pak cric board. I hate 2 b paki .. There all need jus money n pak cric need wasta ..
